Hosting and server log files

The website is hosted by ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany. With every request the server automatically stores technical information in log files:

  • IP address of the requesting device
  • date and time of access
  • page or file requested
  • amount of data transferred and status code
  • browser and operating system
  • previously visited page (referrer), if transmitted

We need this data to deliver the website, keep it secure and find errors. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The log files are deleted automatically after a short time. We have a data processing agreement with the host under Art. 28 GDPR.

Fonts

The fonts used (Fraunces and Plus Jakarta Sans) are stored on our own server. No connection to Google or other font providers is made when you visit the site.

Videos from our own server

Some videos are played directly from our own server. No data is passed on to third parties.

Embedded YouTube videos

We embed YouTube videos with a two-click solution: at first you only see a preview image from our own server. Only when you click ‘Play’ is the video loaded from YouTube. Data such as your IP address and the page you are on is then sent to Google, and YouTube may use cookies or similar technologies.

The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. We use the privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). Data may be transferred to the USA; Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The legal basis is your consent given by clicking (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG). You can withdraw it for the future by reloading the page; the video will then no longer be loaded. More inGoogle’s privacy policy.

Rules quiz

The rules quiz stores your progress in your browser’s storage (local storage): which questions you answered correctly or incorrectly, your best score for each level, any round in progress and your last completed round. This information never leaves your device; we do not receive it and cannot see it.

If you open a lexicon entry from within the quiz, your browser notes for this tab only (session storage) which question or result the ‘Back to the quiz’ link should take you to. This note is deleted as soon as you are back in the quiz or close the tab.

It is only stored once you use the quiz, and only so that it works as you expect. The legal basis is § 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG. You can delete it at any time with ‘Reset progress’ in the quiz or in your browser settings.

Links to Instagram, TikTok and YouTube

We link to our channels with simple links. As long as you do not click them, no data is sent to these services. After clicking, the privacy policy of the respective provider applies.

Contact by email

If you email us, we use your details only to answer your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for enquiries about a contract. We delete the message once it has been dealt with and no statutory retention obligations apply.

Your rights

You have the right to

  • access the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR),
  • rectification (Art. 16 GDPR),
  • erasure (Art. 17 GDPR),
  • restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
  • data portability (Art. 20 GDPR),
  • object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR),
  • withdraw consent with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR).

An informal email to the address above is enough. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the one where you live.
