Rules question · Rule 6.2b · Medium

Can I move a tee-marker that is in my way?

A tee-marker interferes with your swing. May you move it for a moment?

Answer

No, if you move it to improve your stroke, it costs two penalty strokes

The Committee sets the tee-markers, and they are treated as fixed when you play from that teeing area. If you move one to improve your swing and then play, you get the general penalty. If you put it back exactly before the stroke, there is no penalty.
