Do I have to use a tee in the teeing area?
On a par 3, you want to play your ball from the grass in the teeing area, without a tee. Is that allowed?

In the teeing area you may put the ball on a tee or play it directly from the ground. Both are allowed. The ball just has to be within the teeing area.
