Marker

In stroke play the person who enters your scores on the scorecard and certifies it at the end. Usually another player in your group.

The marker does not just write things down, they also witness what happened. If you cannot agree on a score or a ruling, the Committee decides.

Responsibility for the correct hole scores stays with you, though. Check your scorecard hole by hole before returning it.
