The stroke with the putter in which the ball rolls along the ground, usually on the putting green.
Since 2016 you may not anchor the club to your body during the stroke. You may let your forearm rest against your body, or swing a long putter freely.
Since 2019 you may putt with the flagstick in the hole and touch your line of play. Standing astride your line of play or its extension behind the ball, with a foot on each side, is not allowed and costs the general penalty.
If your ball played from the putting green hits another ball at rest on the green, you get two penalty strokes in stroke play. You play your ball as it lies, and the other ball is replaced. In match play there is no penalty.
