Can I bend the grass while searching for my ball?
Your ball has disappeared in long grass. May you bend the grass aside while searching?
Answer
Yes, fairly searching is allowed, even if it improves your lie
When searching, you may take reasonable actions to find the ball, such as bending grass or twigs aside. If this happens to improve your lie, there is no penalty. But if you press the grass down beyond what is needed to search in order to get a better lie, that is a breach.
