Four-ball: score recorded for the wrong partner: what now?

In Four-Ball stroke play, you picked up on a hole and your partner holed out in four. Your marker mistakenly enters the 4 for you and nothing for your partner. The scorecard is returned like this. What is the ruling?

Answer

Your side is disqualified

In Four-Ball every score on the scorecard must be identified to the partner who made it. Here the 4 that counts is entered for you, although you did not complete the hole. Your side is therefore disqualified. An extra score that does not count would be without penalty.
