Rules question · Rule 23 · Medium

Must I hole out in four-ball if my partner has a better score?

In four-ball stroke play your partner has already holed out in four. You are lying six. Do you have to finish the hole?

Answer

No, your partner’s better score counts anyway

In four-ball the side’s better score counts on each hole. If your partner’s score is better anyway, you may stop without holing out.
