Rules question · Rule 6.4a · Hard

Opponent plays out of turn: what can I do in match play?

In match play your opponent tees off first although you had the honour. What may you do?

Answer

Cancel the stroke and make your opponent replay it in the right order

Playing out of turn in match play carries no penalty. But you may cancel your opponent’s stroke, who must then play again in the right order. You must do so promptly, before anyone else makes a stroke.
