Opponent played first at my request: can I cancel the stroke?
In match play, your ball is farther from the hole, but you are still choosing a club. To save time, you invite your opponent to play first. Their stroke ends up right next to the flagstick. May you cancel it?
Answer
No, inviting them to play gives up the right to cancel
If your opponent plays out of turn, you may normally cancel their stroke. But if you invited them to play first or agreed to their request, you give up that right. Their stroke then counts.
