Stableford: played a wrong ball and did not correct it: what now?

In a Stableford competition, you play a wrong ball on the 7th hole and hole out with it. You only notice on the 8th tee, after you have already teed off there. What is the ruling?

Answer

You get zero points on the 7th hole but are not disqualified

In ordinary stroke play you are disqualified if you do not correct playing a wrong ball before teeing off on the next hole. In Stableford you get zero points for the hole instead. The same applies, for example, if you do not hole out.
