Played a wrong ball moving in a stream: is there a penalty?
A ball is floating in the stream of a penalty area. You hit it out and then realise it was not yours. What is the ruling in stroke play?
Answer
No penalty, the stroke does not count, and you continue with your own ball
Normally a wrong ball costs two penalty strokes. The exception is a wrong ball moving in water in a penalty area: there is no penalty. The stroke does not count, and you continue with your own ball.
