Can I aim by placing the clubhead behind the ball?
Standing behind the ball, you place the clubhead behind it at right angles to your line of play and then walk into your stance, still holding the club. What is the ruling?

That is allowed
What is prohibited is setting an object down and letting go of it so that it helps you aim or take your stance. As long as you are holding the club, it has not been set down. So you may line it up behind the ball and walk into your stance with it.
