Can I use a bottle to check the slope of the putting green?
On the putting green you stand your water bottle down to see how the putting green slopes. What is the ruling?
Answer
Two penalty strokes because you are using it to gauge slope
You may use your club as a plumb line to judge slope. Other equipment is not allowed: a bottle used as a level, a bubble level or a weight on a string. The first breach is two penalty strokes.
