Rules question · Rule 10.3a · Expert

A cart driver and a caddie at the same time: is that allowed?

A friend drives your cart with your clubs on it. You also have a caddie who works out distances and gives you advice. What is the ruling?

Answer

Two penalty strokes for each hole where this is the case

Anyone who carries, transports or handles your clubs is your caddie. With the driver and the extra caddie you have two caddies, and that is two penalty strokes for each hole. If you drive the cart yourself, you may have someone perform all the other duties of a caddie.
