Match play without a referee: how can I still get a ruling?

In match play, you and your opponent disagree about a Rule on hole 5. There is no referee, and nobody from the Committee can be reached. What do you do so that you can still get a ruling?

Answer

Before either of you tees off on hole 6, you tell your opponent that you will seek a ruling

A ruling comes from a referee or the Committee. If nobody is available, telling your opponent is enough, as long as you do so before either of you tees off on the next hole. You play on, and the ruling is given once someone is available. If you say nothing, the result of the hole stands.
