Rules question · Rule 20.1c · Medium

Another player breaches a Rule: should I say something?

In stroke play, you see another player touch the sand with their club in a bunker before their stroke. They do not seem to notice. What should you do?

Answer

Tell them, their marker or the Committee, at the latest before they return their scorecard

In stroke play, you are competing against the whole field. That is why you should raise a possible breach as soon as you notice it, at the latest before the other player returns their scorecard. If you deliberately stay silent, the Committee may treat it as serious misconduct and disqualify you.
