Ball unplayable behind the teeing area: can I tee off again?
Your tee shot hits a tree, bounces back and comes to rest in a bush behind the teeing area. You decide it is unplayable. May you play again from the teeing area?
Answer
Yes, for one penalty stroke, and that is your 3rd stroke
With stroke-and-distance relief you may always play from where your last stroke was made, even if it is nearer the hole than your ball. In the teeing area you may tee the ball again. The penalty stroke for the unplayable ball still applies.
