Breach only visible in slow motion: is there a penalty?
At a televised event, an extreme slow-motion replay shows that your club touched a single grain of sand in a bunker on your backswing. This could not be seen with the naked eye, and you felt nothing. What is the ruling?
Answer
No penalty, the video evidence is disregarded
Video evidence counts only if what it shows could reasonably have been seen with the naked eye. Otherwise it is disregarded. But if you felt the club touch the sand yourself, it is still a breach.
