Can I clean my ball when taking relief?
You take free relief from a cart path and lift your ball. May you clean it before dropping?
Answer
Yes, when you take relief you may always clean the ball
You may generally clean a lifted ball. This also applies when you take relief. You may not clean it if you lift it only to identify it, because it interferes with another player or to see if it is cut or cracked.
