Lifted my ball on the putting green without marking: what is the penalty?
On the putting green you lift your ball without marking its spot first. What is the ruling?
Answer
One penalty stroke, and you replace the ball on its spot
If a ball has to be replaced on its original spot, you mark the spot before lifting it, with a ball-marker or a club. If you forget, you get one penalty stroke. You still replace the ball on the spot where it lay.
