Leaned on my club in a bunker: is there a penalty?
As you step into the bunker you slip and lean on your club in the sand to stop yourself falling. What is the ruling?
Answer
No penalty
Leaning on your club in a bunker to rest, stay balanced or prevent a fall is allowed. Putting or throwing clubs into the sand costs nothing either. What is prohibited is testing the sand or touching it with your club right next to the ball, in a practice swing or in your backswing.
