Is there a penalty if my putt hits the flagstick?
You putt from the putting green and hit the flagstick left in the hole. What is the penalty?
Answer
No penalty
Since 2019 there is no penalty when your ball hits the flagstick in the hole, even when putting from the putting green. If the ball then comes to rest, you play it from there. If it rests against the flagstick with any part of it below the surface of the putting green, it is treated as holed.
