Rules question · Rule 13.1f · Expert

I would have to stand on a wrong green: what now?

Your ball lies right next to the green of another hole. To take your stance, you would have to stand on that green. What now?

Answer

You must take free relief

A wrong green interferes not only when your ball lies on it, but also when it would touch your stance or the area of your intended swing. You must not play the ball as it lies and must take free relief.
