Ball drifting in temporary water: can I wait?
After heavy rain your ball is slowly drifting through a large area of temporary water on the fairway. May you wait until it reaches a better spot before taking relief?
Answer
Yes, as long as you do not unreasonably delay play
If your ball is moving in temporary water, you may let it drift on and only take relief once it reaches a spot from which the nearest point of complete relief is more favourable. You just must not unreasonably delay play.
