Rules question · Rule 16.1 · Hard

After relief my ball lies in another puddle: what now?

You took free relief from a puddle. Your dropped ball now comes to rest in a second puddle that did not interfere before. What is the ruling?

Answer

You may take free relief again or play it

If, after complete relief from one puddle, another one interferes, that is a new situation. You may play the ball as it lies or take free relief from the second puddle as well. This applies to all abnormal course conditions, a cart path for example.
