Scratched ball: can I change it during the hole?
After hitting a tree, your ball has a deep scratch and some paint has come off. It is not cut or cracked. May you replace it with a new ball in the middle of the hole?
Answer
No, you may only substitute a ball that is cut or cracked
During a hole you may only substitute your ball if it has clearly become cut or cracked on that hole. Scratches and damaged paint are not enough. To check, you mark the spot and lift the ball without cleaning it. Between two holes you may always change to another ball.
