Rules question · Rule 11.1b · Hard
Putt bounces back and hits my foot: what now?
Your putt bounces back off the edge of the hole and hits your own foot, then the ball comes to rest on the putting green. What is the ruling?
Answer
No penalty, you play the ball as it lies
If a putt from the putting green accidentally hits you, you play the ball as it lies without penalty. You must replay the putt if it hits another person, an animal or a movable obstruction on the putting green. A person attending the flagstick, a ball-marker and a ball at rest are excluded, as other Rules cover them.
