Putt hits the removed flagstick: is there a penalty?
The removed flagstick is lying on the putting green, and your putt accidentally hits it. What is the ruling?
Answer
No penalty, play the ball as it lies
Since 2019 there is no penalty if your ball accidentally hits the removed flagstick. You play it from where it comes to rest. Until 2018 this cost two strokes.
