Can I test-drop a ball before dropping?
Your relief area is at the edge of a bush. Before you drop, you drop another ball as a test to see where it will roll. What is the ruling?
Answer
The Committee may disqualify you
Uncertainty is part of dropping. A test drop to see how the ball will react is contrary to the spirit of the game. The Committee may disqualify you for serious misconduct.
