Can I ask another player about the distance?
In stroke play you ask another player how far it is from where you are to the flagstick. Is that allowed?

Yes, distances are public information, not advice
Advice is anything that helps you choose a club, decide how to play or make a stroke. Public information such as distances, the Rules or the location of penalty areas and the flagstick is not advice. Asking which club they used, on the other hand, is asking for advice.
