Two moving balls collide on the putting green: what now?
In stroke play you putt on the putting green. At the same time another player putts from the other side. The two balls in motion collide. What is the ruling for you?
Answer
No penalty, you replay your putt
If your putt hits a ball at rest that was also on the putting green, you get two penalty strokes in stroke play. But a ball in motion is treated as a movable obstruction. If your putt hits it on the putting green, there is no penalty and you replay the putt. The same applies to the other player.
